Blog vs. Wiki

In modern day culture, blogs and wikis are forms of new media where people are able to express themselves through posting content, specifically writing. Both platforms are similar in a way where you can post whatever you choose and share it with others. Many people have used blogs and wikis for many reasons, one can be for leisure, education and sometimes for work as well. Blogs and wikis both contribute to the convergence of the networked world. Essentially, both platforms are online journals to document information where people can learn and share with one another.  Despite the similarities of both platforms, they are distinctive in their own way. Is Social Networking Better or Worse than the Real Thing?

Social networking has dominated our modern society since the rise of technology. It has become so prominent in our culture and many people have different views on it. Some might believe that social networking is better than the real thing which is traditional networking. I would like to answer questions such as why most younger generations are struggling with traditional networking, is there a reason behind it? There are advantages to social networking but also disadvantages. The same goes for traditional networking as well. I hope to further explain both sides of each category. Finding real-life examples through research would be beneficial as it would show how both categories affect people in day to day lives and what the aftermath was after they experienced it.
